New stringent security regulations, increased passenger screening functions, and the use of explosive detection systems (EDS) have created unprecedented challenges for airport operators. These challenges require a fundamental rethinking of terminal security system design, passenger inspection, baggage handling, and airport perimeter security.
Additionally, airports have become large complexes where numerous services are provided by ever-increasing numbers of staff and subcontractors. Airport security and safety systems must therefore be continually appraised and upgraded to meet changing security control measures and continuous monitoring needs.
Airport security surveillance systems must provide totally integrated security solutions
